Overview:

We are seeking a commercial and strategic Trade Marketing manager, who can champion the marketing of the world’s most identifiable brands, WD-40® Multi-Use Product and WD-40 Specialist® within the UK’s trade market.

Reporting to the UK Marketing Manager, this dynamic role is responsible for the development of WD-40 Company’s trade marketing plan as well as creating brand synergy with trade partners.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver marketing initiatives in support of our Category Management approach for WD-40 products that increase physical and mental availability with consumers, penetration of brands with customers and improve category profitability
  2. Gather research data, analyse market intelligence and create ‘insights’ that help Sales and Marketing to identify and capitalize on key market opportunities and trends.
  3. Develop an understanding of the technical aspects of our products and customer dynamics to deliver customer- targeted initiatives and active support at Trade shows and events.
  4. Develop sales tools, customer and end-user literature, reports, activity analysis, presentations and marketing materials (at customer level) in liaison with sales team.
  5. Plan and manage the Trade Marketing budget (part of overall A&P budget) including annual and monthly forecasts, control of promotional investment, track of expenditure against plan and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  6. Source, brief and manage third party agencies in the delivery of agreed Trade Marketing activities (on time and within budget)
  7. Plan, project manage and monitor marketing initiatives to ensure that other internal functions can deliver their contribution successfully (e.g. Marketing, Sales and Logistics)
  8. Identify opportunities with relevant brand partners to develop joint initiatives in support of general purpose maintenance products with key consumers in trade channels.
  9. Evaluate campaigns to assess performance versus objectives, key learning & ROI and produce recommendations for improvement and future initiatives
  10. Conduct regular market audits to understand competitors, activity implementation, distribution compliance, pricing updates etc. and communicate findings to key internal stakeholders
  11. Perform other related activities as needed to support corporate objectives

Qualification:

  • Degree or equivalent / CIM Cert / Diploma preferable
  • 3 years marketing experience working with brands ideally within Trade and Retail in Europe.
  • Budgeting including forecasting, tracking and management.
  • Data analysis, reporting and project evaluations.
  • Preparing briefs and managing third party agencies.
  • Project management, coordination and implementation.
  • Event management.
